Investor Alert: Beware of Unauthorised Scams

The following list contains names of unauthorised entities and individuals who have been misusing AHAM Capital’s name, identity, and investment team to promote fraudulent investment schemes.
We strongly advise you not to engage, deal, or invest with these parties. If you have been approached by them, please contact us immediately or lodge a report with the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) at 997.

The scammer is operating via a mobile application called TCA Prime and a WhatsApp group named Smart Money Tracker, impersonating our fund manager - Gan Eng Peng, to lure individuals into the scam..
AHAM CapitalFacebook Advertisement
WhatsApp Business Account
The scammer lured individuals through a social media advertisement on Facebook, which directed victims to a WhatsApp Business number (+6010-7750862) operated by a woman named Atiqah, who falsely claimed to represent AHAM Asset Capital.

In addition to Atiqah, two other identities were used:
(1) Mohamad – AHAM Invest Firdaus, and (2) Nor Syafiqa Binti Zahari  (+6011-6062 8086)

Facebook Advertisement
Mobile App - Tower Capital AC Asia
A scammer used a Singaporean company, Tower Capital Asia, and impersonated our fund manager - Gan Eng Peng, in a Facebook ad. A woman named Gennie Chan also posed as the fund manager’s assistant. A victim was misled into investing RM300,000, believing AHAM Asset Management was affiliated.

We confirm we have no connection with Tower Capital Asia or Gennie Chan.

Managing Director
Teng Chee Wai is the founder of Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad (Affin Hwang AM). Over the past decade, he has built the Company to be the fastest growing and only independent investment management house in Malaysia’s top three, with an excess of RM47 billion in assets under management as at 31 December 2018.​

​In his capacity as Managing Director / Executive Director, Teng manages the overall business and strategic direction as well as the management of the investment team. His hands-on approach sees him actively involved in investments, product development and marketing. Teng’s critical leadership and regular participation in reviewing and assessing strategies and performance has been pivotal in allowing the Company to successfully navigate the economically turbulent decade.

Teng’s investment management experience spans more than 20 years, and his key area of expertise is in managing absolute return mandates for insurance assets and investment-linked funds in both Singapore and Malaysia. Prior to his current appointments, he was the Assistant General Manager (Investment) of Overseas Assurance Corporation (OAC) and was responsible for the investment function of the Group Overseas Assurance Corporation Ltd.​

​Teng began his career in the financial industry as an Investment Manager with NTUC Income, Singapore. He is a Bachelor of Science graduate from the National University of Singapore and has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Studies from City University in London.
